The Bosque Action Team and the Sierra Club will be participating again in this year's Día de los Muertos - Marigold Parade and Celebration on Sunday November 2nd. We will celebrate this years theme of !El agua es la vida! !No se Vende! !Se defiende! - Water is life, Don't Sell It, Defend It! We'll use our bosque animal images and our paper maché trees created by Sandria and Vickie. We are looking for representations of water and lack of water if you have anything you want to bring or if you have any ideas.
12 Noon:
Meet at Ken and Diane's house: Get your face painted, help make marigolds, eat something from Diane's Crock Pot. We'll leave the house at 1:30pm to caravan over to the Parade. Diane and Ken's address is 1620 Bernard Thomas Ln SW (Go W on Rio Bravo, S on Isleta, through the light at Gun Club then take your first left on Bernard Thomas. 2pm:
Meet at our float which is #72. It will have the paper mache trees on a trailer. To get to the float area follow GPS instructions to Ernie Pyle Middle School. But in general if you are headed south on Isleta Blvd., turn Right onto Valdora Ave SW., turn Left on to Citation Dr SW. passing Ernie Pyle Middle School, Continue on until you see groups gathering. (It may be worth look for parking before getting to the Middle School. **If you are lost, call OR TEXT me at 505.715.8388
Parade Route:
Starting Point - Parking lot behind YDI in the South Valley
Ending Point - Westside Community Center where there will be Vendors and Information Tables.
Distance 1.2 miles
Dress:
Please wear black or brown.
Bring gloves for carrying the bosque animals.
We will paint our faces at the meeting point.
You can also bring a mask if you'd like.
But all faces must be painted or masked.
